Guide quarters now remodeled, open to free use by Moots clients for fittings and to pick up a bike.
Road bike tours are now integral part of the business. Road bike sales outpaced mountain bikes for the first time in company history as of November 2008 due to increased sales of Pegoretti frames and bikes, along with interest in our commuter bikes built from Moots road and CX frames.

The Atlas Tailings Pile is being moved (starting in May, 2009)--via train. They built new track to accomplish this. The new tracks are good news--they could be used for transit in the future. The spookiest thing about all this is that when a flood brought sand from the tailings across the hiway in 2008, workmen used complete HASMAT body suits and respirators while working to replace the soil. Now that the most dangerous toxic part of the tailings is open to the air, workers from "Energy Solutions Corp" (more like "Energy Mistake Enablers") are walking around in radioactive arsenic dust without so much as a particle mask. I smell evil. I figure the powers that be don't want the tourists to be alarmed, but, for sure, people will die because of this. We will hear about it in the news in ten years when the workers start to come down with cancers. A interesting fact of life in America: The Center for Disease Control requires a population of 20 to 30 thousand to even care about sampling for illnesses. Moab's population is 8K. And the tourists? No one cares if they get sick. We need them to bring their money and ignorance.

Dreamride F-29 is top rough trail performer in the mountain bike category. MOOTS XZ is top overall mountain bike. PEGORETTI MARCELO is top road bike.

Lee is guiding much more, mostly due to the slowdown in business from economic problems. We have lost many of our bankers, who comprised about 50% of our business in 2008. Lee has also come out from under his songwriting to spend more time training. He is offering free rides to Moots and Pegoretti clients as part of purchase of high end builds. We are also offering our guide quarters for free for fittings and pick up.

We are now offering custom paint jobs by Lee Bridgers. This is a very limited offer. Lee hates the toxic paint he has to use, but loves the idea of leaving behind rugged paintings on titanium. See example at PAINT.

Moab is expanding with increased development. The souless dopes who ruined Telluride are moving over here to ruin Moab. Rich pigs are buying up real estate throughout the Moab Valley, turning orchards, pastures and fields that formerly contained food into boxes of stupids. Matrimony Springs is closed for reasons that do not make any sense. Sovereign Lands are trashed by wheeled trail users so much so that all the slickrock we used to take people on is now devoid of crytobiotic soil crusts due to being buried in sands carried by the wind.

The Canyonlands Zephyr's last print issue marked the coming death of the environmental movement here as many of the folks who were active in the fight are moving away. The election of Barak Obama has offered a bit of hope, but we know he might be smart when it comes to constitutional law, but he don't know shit about the environment. Maybe he will get help, but, as always, corporate America calls the shots. Facism, don't you just love it?

Lots of new gas and oil leases have been handed to the oil companies in the Moab area as a last ditch effort by the Bush Administration to give the big bucks to their buddies. The controversy continues and the fate of the last remaining wilderness areas in Utah are at stake.
