This was the very
first Ritchey Commando with the very first Ritchey unicrown fork to be
sold. Completely handmade by Tom Ritchey HIMSELF.
This vintage Ritchey Commando frame, the first of a short run, is in
exceptional condition. Originally purchased from Pacific Bicycle in San
Francisco by Gary Boulderson in late 1984. It was sold to Miki Bridgers,
Dreamride co-owner, in 1986. In 1990 it was sent to Tom Ritchey to be
restored. Cable guides were slotted, frame and fork repainted in the
original camo paint scheme by the same guys who painted it originally,
and all decals replaced by CyclArt, the original graphics designer. A
new press and clip bottom bracket was installed at that time. 19 inch
frame. Serial number 9877. Two waterbottle mounts, rack braze-ons for
touring, and mounts for the shoulder carrying strap that is included
with the frame. Includes black Chris King 1" threaded headset.
